Peter's Parents Evening

We went to Peter's parents evening last night and I have to say we're really proud of him.  We've been told that if he does well in ICT he might be put in to do an additional GCSE in it!  The only thing that seemed consistent with most of his teachers was that he needs to ask for help more instead of struggling on.  He might get higher grades if he did.  We also asked if he could either drop History or take up an additional course.  He wants to drop History because of his teacher (they don't get on) and also he doesn't like the topics being studied.  He wants to do Modern Languages, in particular French.  The head of Modern Languages is going to see if he can go on the Modern Languages twilight course every Tuesday after school.  Failing that, he will be able to take it in 6th form if he wants.

Today

Today Graham is taking Adam to school and I'll be picking him up.  Straight after I pick him up I have to take him to the doctors to have his booster immunisations, then it's back home to the housework.  This afternoon my Mum is coming over to watch the kids while I go up to Ridgewood for Peter's parent's evening.  Graham isn't coming because he has to go to London to pick up the paintings that didn't get entered into the Portrait Gallery's exhibition (which was both paintings he submitted).  Feel so sorry for him because they are fantastic paintings, but it's the luck of the draw at the end of the day which paintings get submitted.  Better luck next year darling.

Heather

I took Heather to the doctors this afternoon because her teacher says she goes to the toilet quite a lot during class.  The doctor took a urine sample and she has no sugar or blood in it but she does have a bit of protein in it.  She also has a bit of a temperature.  He's given her additional antibiotics on top of what she's already taking to try and get rid of anything that might be lurking.  I've got to take her temperature every day and keep an eye on it and take her back in two weeks regardless of whether she's feeling better or still poorly.

Row

I broke down in tears this afternoon.  I've had enough of being the only one who seems to care about the mess the house gets in.  Nobody else does anything - not even Graham.  But since I told him a few things this afternoon, he's promised to pick his game up a bit and start helping out.  We also had a word with the kids and told them that they're going to start helping out too.  Let's see how long it lasts.

Good morning

I am so tired this morning, even though I was in bed by 10pm last night. I just kept waking up and when I was asleep, I was dreaming. Aaaarrrggghhh. Going into town first thing this morning and buying myself some proper walking shoes from Yeoman's. I'm sick and tired of buying shoes that don't last or hurt my feet. This afternoon I have to take Heather to the doctors. Her teacher told me yesterday that although she doesn't drink a great deal at school, she goes to the toilet quite a bit, so I want to get her checked out.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Been in town and got my new boots. I also got some DMC thread that I needed to finish off a pattern I've got going and some bathroom scales so I can keep an eye on my weight. I've seriously got to do something about my weight now. I was asked today when my baby's due!!!

Peter

Peter had his toe nail surgery today although he almost never got it done.  We got there and the nurse put a bit of local anaesthetic into his toe but he needed it doing another 3 times and told to sit in the waiting room for 10 minutes before it finally worked!  He was told that if that didn't work, he would have to come back another time and try again, so he was quite pleased when it finally worked and he was able to have it done.  It actually hurt him more this time though, so I'm not sure his toe was quite numb enough for the surgery.  He had to hold my hand and he hurt it too LOL.  He's got to stay off his foot for at least a day and not go outside and keep the dressing on for 5 days.  He's got to go back on 12 April for a check up to make sure everything's ok.

Adam

I dread putting Adam to bed these days or even getting him ready in the mornings.

He fights me every step of the way.  On top of that, he hardly ever cuddles me or kisses me anymore and that hurts so much I could cry every day over it.  Up until he turned 3 he was the sweetest, most loving little boy ever.  He was always cuddling up to me, kissing me and smiling and laughing.  These days it's a totally different story.  He's even violent.  If he doesn't get his own way, he'll lash out on whatever or whoever is nearest at the time.  He's doing it in school too and that's getting to be embarrassing especially when Graham goes to pick him up.  And it's hardly surprising that out of the 34 children in his class, only 2 of those children's parents talk to me when you think about what Adam gets up to in school.  I feel like he's already being labelled as the kid that the others shouldn't play with.  I never thought in a million years that Adam would be that child.

My Poor Heather

Oh my God! What a night! Ended up at a&e with Heather at 10pm through the Danum Doctors cos she was screaming in agony with one of her ears. He told us it was tonsilitis that was causing the pain in her ear and sent us home with a prescription.

We got home and about an hour or so later she got worse, so I phoned the Danum Doctors back and told them what was going on and got told to come back up and collect a bottle of ibuprofen for her, which I did - at 4.30am. When I got home the poor little love was fast asleep. I think the combination of being poorly and being tired has worn her out and she just couldn't stay awake any longer - pain or not.

I have to go out in a bit and cash her prescription for antibiotics. Looks like another week off school for her. And with the Easter Holidays starting at the end of the week, that will mean 3 weeks off for her.

My poor baby, she's had a very rough time of it, health wise, this year and she's had a lot of time off school with it. Hopefully, she'll start to pick up soon.

27 March 2010

Well I thought I'd start the day off by starting a new blog. At first I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. But I've now decided to keep a diary, so now everybody can read about my life as interesting as it is LOL.

My boys are off to my Mum's later to sleep the night. I'm going to make the most of it later and have some girly time with Heather.
